With data on over 20,000 sailboats and decades of collective expertise, Loong Sails delivers the reliability and performance you can trust.

Cross-cut Sails

Dacron cross-cut sails feature panels arranged parallel to one another and perpendicular to the leech, optimizing strength along the anticipated load-bearing points. This construction, utilizing fabrics with superior strength in the fill direction, effectively withstands the primary forces acting along the leech of the sail, where the most significant loads typically occur.

Cruising sailors opt for Dacron sails due to their overall durability and cost-effectiveness. Dacron emerges as the preferred fabric for longevity, as it resists various forms of wear over the sail’s lifespan, including UV damage and chafing, particularly beneficial for genoas with overlapping sections. Additional features such as UV-Protective covers for luff and foot sections enhance the sail’s durability, extending its usable life.

Tri-radial Sails

Tri-radial sails are built with panels extending from the three corners of the sail: the Head, Clew, and Tack, creating an almost triangular shape. Typically crafted from laminate and membrane sailcloth due to the challenges of producing warp-oriented material, recent advancements have made woven Dacron a viable alternative for constructing tri-radial sails. Challenge Sailcloth’s Warp-Drive sailcloth was the first to introduce a warp-oriented weave, revolutionizing tri-radial sail design with improved performance and longevity.

Used sails offer a convenient and cost-effective solution for outfitting your boat swiftly. Explore our selection of pre-owned mainsails, headsails, and spinnakers.

When considering a used sail, it’s essential to accurately measure your boat. For used mainsails, ensure you have measurements for maximum luff length, foot length, and slider type and size. Used headsails require maximum luff length and details on luff tape or hank size. Spinnakers are more versatile, requiring only the maximum luff length for proper fit confirmation.
